ID CAMPS

What is an ID Camp?

One of our goals is to explore players of this area through the ID Camp sessions and see if we can find some potential players to add to our Academy teams. If we find a player, we will not add that player automatically to our Academy for next year, instead we will invite them to training sessions and see how they interact with our current players. Only after this process, with the confirmation of the Academy Director and the Academy coaching staff, will we make a final decision of addition.

Our Academy will not have tryouts.

Instead of tryouts, we will have ID Camp sessions. These sessions will cost each player $25, which amount represents the ambition that someone shows in order to join our Academy and covers field rentals, coaching fees, and equipment costs.

This is called Process of Identification.

About the future U18/U19 Academy Team

This team is being created for two reasons: (1) we want to offer continuity for our current 2005 and 2006 Academy players, so they can finish their Academy soccer careers at El Paso Locomotive FC and play competitively in meaningful games outside of their High School soccer schedule, and (2) in order to provide college recruitment opportunities and support for our senior class players who are trying to continue their academic and athletic careers on the intercollegiate level.

By joining this team, you will be part of our Academy structure, which means that the team will train 3-4 times a week, will go to high level tournaments, will be part of the E64 National League competition as our primary U18/U19 Academy team, and will have the chance to attend showcases where you can be seen in front of college coaches.

As part of the support staff of this team, our Academy's College Recruitment Coordinator, Alex Pozo will be assisting all players on this team with providing them appropriate information in regards to the entire process of college recruitment. The team's games will be recorded, so they can create highlight tapes and send full game recordings to interested college coaches, Coach Pozo will provide template on how to approach college coaches, and will offer advice about college choices and academic circumstances.

ID CAMP PROCESS

These sessions will be used to identify new players for EL Paso Locomotive FC Academy teams for the Fall 2023 & Spring 2024 season.

After the ID Camp, the team formation process will begin.
Families will be contacted a few weeks after tryouts once team formations are complete.

Teams will begin practicing for the Fall 2023 season in early August.

ID Camps for the coming Youth Soccer Year have passed. Teams are being formed now. If you have any questions please reach out to youthsoccer@eplocomotivefc.com
