El Paso Locomotive Youth Soccer announced on Monday the coaching staff for its inaugural USL Academy League campaign. Under the direction of Bob Bigney, Omar Morin and JC Garzon will serve as coaches for the youth soccer premier team with Locomotive midfielder Richie Ryan rounding out the technical staff.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for the very best players to experience high-quality training sessions and games against youth teams of other professional clubs,” stated Bob Bigney, Director of Youth Soccer for El Paso Locomotive FC. “Players for our USL Academy League team will be selected from Locomotive youth teams or from other teams in the area. We will identify players to train in a player pool. For each scheduled competition in the USL Academy League, we will pick the best team from the pool to represent El Paso.”

Morin is a well-known coach in the El Paso soccer scene who currently coaches the Locomotive 2007 Boys Team. Prior to joining Locomotive, Morin guided youth teams and high school teams to success, in addition to having spent time working the MLS Youth Academy system. Morin has completed his US Soccer ‘B’ License.

Garzon, Goalkeeper Coach for El Paso Locomotive, expands his role with Locomotive Youth Soccer. A valuable connection between the USL Academy League team and the Locomotive Senior squad, Garzon is currently completing his US Soccer ‘B’ License.

Ryan, starting center midfielder for El Paso Locomotive will also join the Locomotive Youth Soccer’s premier team’s staff, bringing extensive knowledge with him to help usher in the next generation of soccer players. With an illustrious professional career and the ability to connect with younger players, the Irishman will prove to be a tremendous asset to players selected to the USL Academy squad.

“This coaching staff, along with the oversight from Locomotive Head Coach and Technical Director, Mark Lowry, will provide an exceptional experience for the selected players,” continued Bigney. “We expect this Locomotive USL Academy League Team to represent and showcase the talented youth players in the borderland.”

Locomotive Youth Soccer is set to join the USL Academy League’s inaugural season, with competition set to begin in May 2021. For questions or more information, email youthsoccer@eplocomotivefc.com.
