EL PASO, Texas – El Paso Locomotive Youth Soccer wrapped up yet another great spring season competing in the El Paso Premier League, with all teams participating in the Finals that took place last weekend.

“It was really great to see our teams back in action this spring season, Director of Youth Soccer Colin Herlinger said. “With our club teams being in a multitude of different competition levels, we knew that our teams were placed correctly so they could develop. We saw many different results, but it was ultimately a positive season that allowed us to see growth in our players, coaches and club into the future.”

Out of all 20 teams that participated, both Academy and Youth Soccer combined, 14 made it to the knockout stages. Of those 14, eight teams made a semifinal run with four making it all the way to the final. The U14 Boys Academy team would lift the trophy in their respective division, winning in their league for a second consecutive time after having done so in the fall.

For Academy Director Ivan Militar, it is important for the Academy and Youth Soccer teams to be given chances to compete and develop in local leagues such as the EPPL.

We love the fact that we can play competitive and meaningful games in our own community,” he said. “We have had a lot of success on the field, but more importantly, we gained important experience playing against local talented players. We are very proud of our teams and players, and we are looking forward to next season with the El Paso Premier League."
