El Paso Locomotive FC Academy, Club Close Out Fall 2023 EPPL Season

EL PASO, Texas – Youth teams across El Paso Locomotive FC Academy and Club closed out the Fall 2023 El Paso Premier League (EPPL) season over the weekend, with many making deep runs in the playoffs and even lifting some trophies.

EL PASO LOCOMOTIVE FC ACADEMY

Four of the six Academy teams playing in the Fall 2023 EPPL played in age groups above their own to provide tougher competition and accelerate development and two were crowned champions in their respective divisions.

U13 Boys: Champions
U14 Boys: Quarterfinalist
U15 Boys: Third-place
U16 Boys: Champions
U17 Boys: Third-place
U19 Boys: Quarterfinalist

"The El Paso Premier League is one of our Academy’s favorite leagues to compete in as playing against local competition is always interesting, full of emotions, and helps our players develop,” Academy Director Ivan Militar said. “Our style of play and values are very important for us to uphold as we compete to win games and lift trophies. We had great success throughout the season, pulling off some big wins and major upsets along the way, culminating in several first-place finishes. We are huge advocates for the league, and we cannot wait to run it back in the Spring!”

EL PASO LOCOMOTIVE FC CLUB

El Paso Locomotive FC Club fielded 11 teams for the final weekend of EPPL action, with three teams lifting a trophy and the remaining putting up hard-fought efforts in the final or semifinal of their age brackets.

U10 Girls: Third-place
U11 Blue: Fourth-place
U11 Gold: Third-place
U12 Gold: Champions
U14 Gold: Champions
U15 Blue: Third-place
U15 Gold: Third-place
U16 Blue: Runner-up
U16 Gold: Runner-up

“El Paso Locomotive Youth Soccer is extremely proud of our club teams and how they competed this year,” Director of Youth Soccer and Programs Colin Herlinger said. “In comparison to last year, we nearly doubled the number of teams that competed in the EPPL Finals weekend and had a record number of club teams place first in their divisions. These placements are a direct result of the effort and dedication put in by our club, players, parents and coaches this year. We are excited to enter next season with these teams as we continue to grow and see what more they can accomplish!”
