EL PASO, Texas (March 5, 2024) – El Paso Locomotive FC Academy continues to harbor success in 2024 after a strong showing at the RSL AZ College Showcase in Phoenix over the weekend.
The Locomotive U-17s and U-20s traveled to participate in the showcase, attended by coaches and scouts from 25 different colleges across the country.
“We are excited for what is coming for our boys as many college coaches were offering them spots and scholarships after watching them play at the RSL-AZ College Showcase,” Academy Director Ivan Militar said. “College offers are valuable key performance indicators for our department, so it was great to see the exposure our players got over the weekend.”
In addition to the exposure the teams got at the showcase, they also made sure to put on impressive performances. The fully funded U-20 USL Academy team managed to lift its second trophy of the year whereas the U-17 Select team (which was established this year for players who opted out of high school soccer) won two of three matches against older opposition.
