EL PASO, Texas (March 19, 2024) – Over the weekend, El Paso Locomotive FC Youth Soccer had several teams compete in the 2024 Phoenix Cup to continue preparations for upcoming tournaments and seasons.

ACADEMY

“All of our participating Academy teams put up great performances at the Phoenix Cup to finish our preparation towards Dallas Cup and the upcoming Spring Season,” Academy Director Ivan Militar said.

RESULTS

U13: Group Stage; 1-1-1
U14: Runner-up; 2-0-1
U17: Champions; 3-0-0
U20: Champions; 3-0-0

CLUB

“Across all age groups, our teams faced great competition against teams from across the West Coast, including Canada,” Director of Youth Soccer Colin Herlinger said. “This has been the most competitive tournament our Blue teams have attended, and we will continue to attend and measure ourselves amongst teams across this region.”

U11: Runner-up; 3-0-0
U12: Runner-up; 3-0-0
U14: Group Stage; 1-1-1

Our teams across all age groups faced very strong competition, from California, Washington State and even Canada.  We as a club performed very well despite not bringing home a first-place trophy.  Our 2013, 2012, and 2011 teams were each able to make it to the finals but as the minutes closed in, fell just short.  This has been the most competitive tournament our Blue teams have attended and we will continue to attend and measure ourselves among teams all across the West Coast.
